A collection from Amagansett and Chappaqua, New York

As an athletic person, the summer of 2011 was rough. Unexpected knee surgery complete with four weeks on crutches and three weeks in a stiff brace, followed by a second surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff with an additional six weeks recovery, tossed me into a depression equal to losing a best friend. I needed a way to heal so I turned to a dormant passion, image-making, to help me re-focus. I took hundreds of photos and manipulated several of them to the images you see below.
